10 days trip from Marrakech, along the Kasbahs Trail. Experience the authentic Moroccan culture, and meet locals living in remote villages. This tour is a combination of spectacular landscapes and the rich history of the heart of Morocco.
This 10 days trip begins and ends in Marrakech across the High Atlas mountains and their interesting landscapes and Berber villages. Continuing south you will arrive at the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, the famous Kasbah in Morocco, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.
Day 1
Our driver will pick you up from the airport up to your arrival time and transfer you in your hotel/riad. You’ll have the day to relax while exploring the main square Jemaa el Fnaa and the souks. Overnight in standard accommodation.
Day 2
After breakfast we depart from Marrakech for the seaside town of Essaouira. A relaxing drive lined with argan oil cooperatives, where you will have the opportunity to visit one of them and see the process, will take you to this UNESCO World Heritage listed city. The windswept fishing port, with broad beaches and ancient walled medina with ramparts built into the cliffs has long been a popular destination. With its relaxed feel, take in the small but lively medina, stroll along the ramparts or beach, or visit the port to see the daily catch. Overnight in standard accommodation.
Day 3
After breakfast we depart to Rabat and continue our journey up the Atlantic Coast. We will make a stop to El Jadida, a small port city, formerly controlled by the Portuguese, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. Next stop will be in Casablanca where you will visit the impressive Mosque of Hassan II, built in 1993 by a team of over 6000 craftsmen. Located on the shores of the city it is an imposing edifice and one of the few mosques in Morocco that foreigners are allowed to enter. Afterwards, we will depart for Rabat, the capital of Morocco. You will explore the Imperial City of Rabat, including the Mechouar (the ramparts and walls surrounding the Royal Palace), the majestic Mohammed V Mausoleum, the Hassan Tower and the Oudaya Kasbah overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and offering fabulous views. Check into to your hotel/riad. Overnight in standard accommodation.
Day 4
Depart for the enchanting mountain village of Chefchaouen, passing through the green valleys of the Rif Mountains. Chefchaouen is famous for its vivid blue rinsed houses and is very popular for both tourists and Moroccans, particularly in the hot summer months. Explore Chefchaouen, with its winding lanes and narrow alleys which are home to numerous souks offering cuisine and artisan works, such as woollen items, intricate embroidery, and goats cheese, all native to the North and not found anywhere else in Morocco. Relax in the square, visit a local farm or hike in nearby parks. Overnight in standard accommodation.
Day 5
This morning, after breakfast, we will go to Volubilis, an UNESCO World Heritage town, an ancient Roman settlement. Here you can admire the alleyways, gates, monuments and mosaic floors. Dating from the 2nd and 3rd centuries, the Roman ruins here are considered the best-preserved in Morocco. Later arriving in Meknes, a World Heritage Unesco Site and one of the 4 Imperial cities of Morocco. Meknes, the site of the first Arab dynasty created by Moulay Ismail and here you can visit the Medersa Bou Inania and the Bab Mansour, the Gateway to Moulay Ismail Palace. Later we continue to Fes where you will check into your hotel/riad. Overnight in standard accommodation.
Day 6
After breakfast you will meet with a local tourist guide to explore Fes, the most ancient and holy of the Imperial cities. Your cultural and historic tour will take you through the 2000 year old living medina. A labyrinth of narrow streets, alive with markets and souks, craftsmen, donkeys and mules transporting their loads. Visit the Attarine and Bou Anania Medersas (Islamic universities), the Nejjarine fountain, the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, and the Karaouine Mosque. Finish your tour with a visit to Fes Jdid, and the revered Merenid Tombs for a spectacular panoramic view of Fes. Overnight in standard accommodation.
Day 7
After breakfast in your hotel/riad in Fes, we will start our journey driving to the south of Morocco via the middle Atlas Mountains. We will have a stop in Ifrane (15 min stop), known as the Switzerland of Morocco to enjoy its beauty and to have some memorable photos. After that we will head toward Azrou (20 min stop) to see the monkeys in the cedar forest. Later we will reach Midelt where we will make a stop for lunch (1h 30 min stop). Continuing our trip, we will cross the pass of Tizi N Talghamt to reach Errachidia while admiring the views of Ziz gorges. Later you will have a stop for a panoramic view of Ziz valley (15 min stop). The drive continues to Erg Chebbi Dunes passing by Aoufous and Erfoud (15 min stop). After that we will continue to the captivating dunes of Erg Chebbi, these dunes are called also Merzouga Dunes. In the afternoon get ready for a camel trek for an hour to enjoy the sunset. While on the back of your dromedary, you will continue to the camp. Dinner and spend the night in a bivouac tent in the middle of the dunes. Overnight in standard desert camp
Day 8
Wake up early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise on the top of the dune in the Sahara Desert and then have your breakfast. After these beautiful moments, you will ride your camel back to Merzouga. We depart towards Tineghir passing by Erfoud and Tinejdad. Have a break for lunch. In the afternoon, we will continue to Todra gorges via Tineghir. Stopping along the way for photos and admiring the views. Arrival to Todra Gorges to enjoy its marvelous Canyons views while hiking on foot. Later on, we drive to Boumalne du dades and stopping for a panoramic view of Dades Valley. Overnight in standard accommodation.
Day 9
This morning after breakfast in the hotel, we depart to Marrakech. The next site to visit is the Rose Valley going through the big Skoura palm grove, a beautiful place to contemplate more than 700.000 palms and numerous kasbahs that are built in the surrounding area. In this Valley damascenes roses are raised for cosmetic use such as the valued rosewater. Next stop is in Ouarzazate, also known as “The gate of the desert” that in berber language means “noiseless or without confusion”. Here we´ll see the Taourirt kasbah, one of the most spectacular ksars in Morocco. Stopping for a panoramic view of the kasbah of Taourirt then another photo stop near the Atlas film studios. After that we continue to the ksar (fortified village) of Aït Ben Haddou where we will visit the famous Kasbah (declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986). Famous films have been shot in this spectacular stage, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara with Penélope Cruz…etc. Free time for lunch in town. In the Afternoon we will drive to Marrakech over the mountains of high Atlas passing through the Tizi N’tichka pass (2260 m in altitude). Arrival in Marrakech in the afternoon and check into your accommodation. Overnight in standard accommodation.
Day 10
After breakfast in the hotel, you will have a private guided tour of Marrakech Medina with an official guide from Marrakech. You will see the famous Mosque of Koutoubia, the Medina and its souks, and explore some more of Marrakech’s secrets: Ali Ben Youssef Koranic school, the Saadian tomps, the Bahia Palace and Majorelle Gardens.after our diriver will drop you off in the airport of Marrakech up to your flight time and its the end of our services.
